How To Get The New Facebook Timeline Profile (VIDEO)

Facebook just released their new Timeline Profile earlier today on their #f8 Conference for Developers live broadcast earlier today.

If you are wondering how you can get in early and have the new timeline instead of having to wait “a few weeks” there are ways to get it early.

TechCrunch found a method for getting the new profile immediately. If you want to learn how to do it, simply watch the video below and follow along.

[The steps in the video are outlined below].

1. Get the Developer Facebook app. Type “Developer” into the Facebook search bar and click on the first result. Click “Allow.”
2. In the top righthand corner of the Developer app, click on the “+ Create New App” button. Fill out the App display name and description. (Just write a cool word there, like “superduper”).
3. Agree to the Developer privacy agreement. TechCrunch says you need to have a “verified account” for this, which means that you’d need to have a credit card attached to your Facebook profile; I don’t have a verified account but they still let me get it 🙂
4. Find the “Open Graph” on the left sidebar and type in a test verb and noun for your new app. I started a “Read a Book” app, so my test verb will be “Read” and my test noun will be “Book”:
5. Run through a few pages of new app information. No need to enter anything here, just keep on saving changes and continuing.
6. In five to ten minutes, you’ll have an invitation at the top of your Facebook profile to try out the new profile. WARNING: It might be buggy to start off with. Remember it’s still in beta so there will be errors.

What are your thoughts about this change?

Companies Are Hacking Your Brain

Did you know that companies like Intel, PayPal, PepsiCo, Google, HP, CITI, and Microsoft are spending millions of dollars to plumb your mind? Here’s a sneak preview of how it’s being done and the reason why they are investing millions…

I came across this in an article entitled They Have Hacked Your Brain in Fast Company magazine.

At Brain Smart Success we are fascinated with anything that deals with the brain and how it impacts learning and in this case marketing. There is now a product called Mynd, the world’s first portable, wireless electroencephalogram (EEG) scanner. This device has dozens of sensors that rest on a subject’s head just as a crown would fit. It covers the entire area of the brain so that it can comprehensively capture synaptic waves. This model doesn’t need the gel that was previously needed though.

Advertisers have been using connections between brain functions and how it influences consumer behavior for decades. You’re probably aware of the battle between Coke or Pepsi and may have a personal preference for one or the other. This has been done through the companies branding and proper marketing over the past few decades.

80% of New Products FAIL

How crazy is that? Even with all the focus groups that there are and how much money big brands throw into new products, the majority of these products fail miserably.

It is the hope of A.K. Pradeep, the CEO of NeuroFocus that they can help minimize the amount of product failures by using the technology of their Mynd product.

You might think that this is a dirty little marketing plow where a company is just trying to trick you into buying something that you don’t really want or need. NeuroFocus is set out to change this and is working with corporations who have the same goal.

These corporations all share a common goal: to mine your brain so they can blow your mind with products you deeply desire.

How cool is that? Instead of using this information to trick you into buying things you don’t need, they are using the information that they get from your brain (all of the subconscious thoughts you have) and are able to create something that will address these deep desires you have, but aren’t aware of until you have it.

I wanted to simply make you aware of this because I have a feeling that in a few years more brands will be able to afford this type of research in order to create better products for their customers and to capitalize on this type of market research.

A Box You Will Want To Uncheck on LinkedIn

In this video I share a little trick that is going to prevent LinkedIn from using your name and picture in advertisements of their third-party services.

To prevent LinkedIn from using your information, take the time to watch this and follow along with the video tutorial.

Here’s what the box says and is automatically approved:

“LinkedIn may sometimes pair an advertiser’s message with social content from LinkedIn’s network in order to make the ad more relevant. When LinkedIn members recommend people and services, follow companies, or take other actions, their name/photo may show up in related ads shown to you. Conversely, when you take these actions on LinkedIn, your name/photo may show up in related ads shown to LinkedIn members. By providing social context, we make it easy for our members to learn about products and services that the LinkedIn network is interacting with.”

Profits Theme or Optimize Press?

Profits Theme vs Optimize Press

What is the difference and what are the benefits to choosing one over the other?

To start off with, you may not be aware of Profits Theme yet because it is reasonably new to the scene compared to OptimizePress. Profits Theme is made by Welly Mulia and Adi Djohari.

Profits Theme is built with what Welly and Adi like to call CAGWYW which is a pretty awesome acronym. It stands for “Click And Get What You Want” how brilliant is that? You don’t need to worry about anything but being able to click stuff and know what you want to happen and this software will help you do it. I consider this a brain smart wordpress theme because it’s going to save you a lot of time and your time is the most important thing you have.

I personally have been using Profits Theme for 3 months now and absolutely love it. I’ve used it for this site and have been using it to improve the conversions on my Juggling video course.

10 of my Favorite Aspects of Profits Theme

1) Very easy to use – can customize almost any field you desire.

2) Automatically creates pages for you – Privacy Page, Disclaimer etc. TIME SAVER

3) You can create a complete sales funnel with this theme,Landing/squeeze pages, sales pages, one time offers etc.

4) It’s easy to integrate autoresponders and confirmation/thank you pages

5) It’s possible to build a multi-level membership site, but I haven’t done this… YET!

6) No having to fool around with HTML/CSS/PHP codes which is a huge benefit because coding takes so long to learn. TIME SAVER

7) Support response times are quick

8 ) Comes with certain features that used to require plug-ins (opt-in forms both pop-ups and on-page, SEO, basic ad management, link cloaking)

9) 6 Themes in one all customizable

10) Under $100 bucks!

How About OptimizePress?

OptimizePress has been the go-to theme for Internet Marketers for a while now and seems to be everywhere online. This is good because the page has been proven to convert well so the users are reaping the benefits of the conversion testing. There is also a problem that I have found with OptimizePress; it seems to be everywhere. I can now recognize an OptimizePress page as soon as I land on the page. To me, this waters down the effectiveness of the page and might drop conversions. This tends to happen as themes become over-used and saturate the market.

This might be because I’m involved in the Internet Marketing business and I tend to spend a lot of time online doing marketing. It may still convert very well for niche businesses, but it’s getting to be overused in the Internet Marketing industry.

Top 10 List for OptimizePress

1) 10 Built In Squeeze Page Designs

2) Integrates Easily with AutoResponder

3) Adding headlines, text, bullets takes seconds

4) Can build Sales Letters, Bonus Pages, One-Time Offer Pages easily

5) Easy to add video to pages

6) Del….ayed.. Call to action buttons

7) Easy to set up product launches & funnels

8 ) Graphics pack

9) Great support (24-48 hour time)

10) Online User Guide has a lot of great info

Both of these themes seem to be a good investment if you will be doing any sort of online marketing. I personally enjoy using Profits Theme more and have more experience with it. However, I will be working on using OptimizePress for an up-coming product launch I am helping out with so I’ll be learning the true differences and will create some videos on the differences soon.
