Christmas Gifts That Train Your Brain

It’s that time of year again!

The Holidays are upon us and it’s time that we all start thinking about gifts to give our family and friends.

As you know already, we love helping people like yourself learn better and improve their brains. With this in mind, I wanted to create a post that was all about good gifts that will train your brain. This post will share some inexpensive gifts that you can give to others that will help make them a better person.

Desk Calendars

Desk Calendars are great gifts because they continue to give new information each day for an entire year. Every day you get a new tip or trick to help train your brain. These are great for anyone who has a desk and likes to know what day it is. (hint: everyone!)

“I buy this as a gift for my husband every Christmas. He absolutely loves this calendar. He thoroughly enjoys all the ‘brain’ puzzles. It nice that you can give someone a gift that lasts the whole year through. And of course it is always so easy to purchase from Amazon – timely service every time. Thank You Amazon – continue to do what you do!!!”

Brain Video Games

Who would have ever thought that video games could be good for training your brain?

Nintendo DS has come up with a great game that will help you train your brain in minutes a day.

The Brain Age 2 game could be an excellent gift if you know someone who has a Nintendo DS already and wants to start training their brain. This would be a great gift for younger kids as well as anyone who wants unconventional gifts to improve their brain and memory.

The Gift Of Language

Learning a new language is one of the best ways to train your brain and keep your memory from disappearing. By challenging your brain to learn a new language, you are making yourself smarter and exercising your brain. This will help improve your memory and will also give you the opportunity to meet and chat with people who you never would have been able to if you could only speak english.

There are many languages available and Rosetta Stone is by far the best choice for learning a new language.

Languages available:
Spanish
French
Italian
-Many Many More…

These are all gifts that will benefit your brain and are fairly inexpensive gifts when you think about the value of your brain. The more you take care of your brain, the better life you will live.

Roger Craig Dominates Jeopardy Using Brain Power

Roger Craig is a computer scientist and he built an application that allowed him to power study his way through thousands of old Jeopardy questions. This application basically programmed his brain to remember information that would be relevant to Jeopardy and questions that are likely to be asked again.

Check out how he did it:

Brain Training Games

Brain Training Games

In this post I want to share with you some games that you can start to play that will help you train your brain. These games are going to work different parts of your brain and will help you with improving the different areas of your brain.

This exercise is simple and tests how quickly your brain recognizes a change in color. The goal of this is to see how quickly you can recognize a color change on your computer screen and click the mouse to confirm that you saw the color change. They tell you to shoot for a score of .20 seconds on this test. It’s pretty difficult the first few times but the more you do it, the faster you’ll be able to react. This type of test is good for you because it will help you with recognizing changes quicker. There is also a second Reflex Test, try to get 58 points in that one, If you do achieve these two goals then you’re very fast.

As you are aware, creativity is a great thing. It’s essential that business owners like yourself think and act in creative ways in order to grow your business and have your business evolve with the changing times. By stimulating these areas of your brain, it will wake up the dormant areas of your brain. This game can be pretty addicting so make sure you aren’t interrupting your work time.

If you ever played the game, Simon, when you were growing up; this game is very similar to that game. This game is great because it stimulates different areas of your brain that are responsible for storing and retrieving information. This game can be very fun and will definitely keep you on your toes and help you improve your memory.

This game blew me away when I first saw it. (Mainly because I didn’t read the directions)

The concept is that you want to move a number of disks from one pole to another in a specific way. You will have to figure out the algorithm to properly do it. I recommend grabbing a piece of paper and a pencil to write out the algorithm.

There are three games that are about chess that will help you improve your intelligence. You can play the regular version of  chess which is simply the best strategy game, also another strategy game called 8 Queens, and finally another brain game called (Chess Knight).

These are very good workouts, chess can help you gain the ability of good thinking and making creative strategies, if you don’t know how to play chess, then either check for the rules online before playing, or just jump to the next game. Chess is also considered the most left-brain game you can play so it’s a great way to train your analytical side of your brain.

This is my mom’s favorite game. Sudoku, is a very nice strategy game and one of the fastest growing games of the 21 century, simple but is considered to be a good brain stimulation and training. You can do a daily Sudoku game at DailySudoku.com

This is about Rubik’s Cube puzzle, a very challenging game, which can stimulate many parts of your brain that you usually don’t stimulate, including visual memory and spatial intelligence.

If you want to see other games that BrainMetrix has, you can see other games at BrainMetrix.com

Do you have any other good brain training games?
